A nicely toned tetradrachm from Syracuse

SICILY. Syracuse. Second Democracy, 466-405 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 25 mm, 16.55 g, 11 h), circa 460-440. Charioteer driving quadriga walking to right, holding goad in his right hand and the reins in both; above, Nike flying right to crown the horses; in exergue, ketos to right. Rev. ΣYRAKO-ΣI-O-N Diademed head of Arethusa to right, wearing pendant earring and pearl necklace; around, four dolphins swimming right. Boehringer 478 (V255/R343). A nicely toned example of fine style. Very fine.
